In the eyes of a CHILD, Sun Wukong is truly the big boss because he used his talent to recognize the good and right, helped Tang Tang complete his mission, helped Bat Goi and Sa Tang overcome difficulties, helped Thousands of fellow human beings have a peaceful life.
The first time the CHILD knew about movies was when he was a child living in a poor village. And the first movie the CHILD saw was Journey to the West.
From the beginning, the CHILD realized that what was in Journey to the West was fiction, but he was fascinated and applied it to his life. He wished he had a magic spell, not needing to be 18, 36 or 72 magic spells like in the movie...to change his father's decision.
Childhood was the days when the CHILD searched for the magic spell he wanted. He remembered what Sun Wukong had to go through to have magic and be so good. He studied, practiced and searched alone. Of course, he could not find any magic spell like in the movie, nor could he change the situation his father had created. But he created a few things in life that he did not think he could do before watching Journey to the West. Suddenly, the CHILD realized that he had magic.
The CHILD idolized Sun Wukong so much that he lived like that. He studied and practiced to be the best at what he liked. He lived as himself, not influenced by anyone. But that was also why he lost the favor of many people like Sun Wukong in the movie.
The thing that haunted the CHILD the most was when Sun Wukong was put under the golden ring. The CHILD was very upset when Sun Wukong, who was so good, was tormented by Tang Sanzang with a few chants. But that very haunting thing helped the CHILD have the motivation to improve himself, to experience many things so as not to fall into such a situation.
After many years of training to gain independence when he grew up, the CHILD was very proud, thanked Journey to the West, thanked Sun Wukong very much.
One day, the grown-up CHILD read an article praising Tang Sanzang, saying, “Knowing nothing but being a boss.” The CHILD was stunned to remember that Tang Sanzang had no martial arts or magic, nor any practical experience, but Sun Wukong, Bajie, and Sha Wujing all volunteered to assist and listen. The article made the CHILD struggle to find books to read in order to gain enough knowledge to judge. And then the CHILD was delighted when he realized that what Tang Sanzang had was more valuable than talent and magic, which was his heart, his virtue, and his ideals.
But the CHILD did not think that Tang Sanzang was a boss, but rather that Sun Wukong and the other characters admired his heart, his virtue, and his ideals, so they were willing to help Tang Sanzang. In the eyes of the CHILD, Sun Wukong is the real boss because he used his talent to recognize right and wrong, helped Tang Sanzang complete his mission, helped Bajie and Sha Wujing overcome hardships, and helped thousands of his fellow humans have a peaceful life. And occasionally rebelling, being arrested, and being punished is fine, it's just being yourself.
